i've tried heroku a few times, always found it kinda painful to learn and felt helpless when things go wrong.. not sure if its because i'm used to building own servers (which might be inefficient) maybe heroku is better for people

yes did consider code reviews. our thought on this would be mainly for people to check outsourced work is not way out of line. in a 30-60 minute review you can't get too deep, but you can give a general opinion of the overall quality o

as a side point, there should be a point where you can comment that "things look good", but i agree the designer should have to comment on why they look good.. we're working out designer guidelines now :)

well it is a euphemism but it is also jail. working 9-5 earning a decent salary is something that can hold you up.. - opportunity cost to try something new or take a risk is so much higher

paypal might not be great to work with.. i've previously had $50k locked for over a year (and thought i'd NEVER get it back). I then vowed never to use them again... but buying stuff with paypal is just SOO easy.. its 3 clicks...
