it looks like they aren't enclosed (which is something i'm looking for) and they basically look like the same kind of rack that i used in the 90s, which is fine, but i was thinking there is something better nowadays.

i'm not really looking for a bargain. i'm looking for the state of the art in racks. i used to build/run data centers 15 years ago, and racks kind of sucked back then. i'm just thinking there's a "better way

i wonder if he considered an electric motor. no horsepower penalty for high altitudes with that. just the battery problems..

when i submit something to the search engine, it produces a result that doesn't have anything to do with the search term. it's unclear to me how i am supposed to help improve this.

hotbot used to be backed by inktomi. fun fact: inktomi was the first search engine to use "shared-nothing clustering" (what everyone calls server farms nowadays) to power it's back end. it was a cluster of sparc machines.
