This is better than most phones on the market, but I can't help but be turned off when I scroll down and start seeing the Google Play logo and mentions about AI and Google Gemini. Kind of defeats the purpose, no?

If I get a car with an advanced computer, I expect to be able to install and run whatever software I want on it. Just like any other computer. If I can't, then I don't own the device.

You could maybe argue that it's a spiritual successor, but tech-stack wise, Firefox and Netscape are in their own family, and Brave is in the Chromium-based browser family.

Can I ask why developers would prefer a laptop over a desktop? I know it's off topic, but I see this question on HN an awful lot and I scratch my head each time. Desktop PCs are: - Cheaper - More repairable and upgradable - More option

No. If I ran a car wash and had some signs on the road stating the name of my business and accurate prices, I don't think that is deceptive. I'm more inclined to agree that all advertising might be unethical or immoral, though.

The entire software stack is non-free and closed-source. This means you'd be taking Apple at their word on "privacy". Do you trust Apple? I wouldn't, given their track record.
