That's a good point, and I could have worded that better. What I implemented accepts an explicit alignment parameter because it made the allocator easier to explain. A real malloc() only guarantees alignment suitable for any object typ

yeah this was cool and genuinely informative. i found myself mostly reading the summary on the left though.. it was doing most of the heavy lifting. the graph looked nice, but it didn’t really add much to the understanding for me.
