Also very helpful: There is ~C which opens a "command" mode where you can add local or remote forwardings after you opened a SSH session (e.g. -L8080:localhost:8080)

It's a good question and not easy to answer in general as there a lot of different types of hackerspaces. Some hackerspaces are more a kind of makerspace and provide expensive, large or complicated hardware like industrial laser cutter

I use my EarPods with headphone plug on a number of devices. The one with the Lightning connector is only useable with Apple devices, so this is again a vendor lockin. This has to stop.
