There is one, a [hwrng] process, but I don't think that's it. It's also in D state on other virtual machines on the same host without this symptom. (The process is probably from virtio-rng.)

OT: what could cause a system to have a load of 1 when idle ? I have one (unimportant) Linux system that idles with a load of exactly 1. The issue persists through reboots. It is a KVM virtual machine and qemu confirms nothing is going on

While Red Hats individual kernel patches are not available, they distribute the "squashed" sources under the terms of the GPL.

I've been toying with GuixSD recently and really love the immutable system configurations. There are some caveats, but I would not mind using it on production servers. Sadly I haven't been able to convince my colleagues yet.

GNU is more of an umbrella than an organization with research and goals. FSF is more focused, but mainly towards industry. If you create a decent Siri/Alexa clone and license it under GPL, I'm sure GNU would be happy to adopt it.

I've started to dislike /usr/bin/env too. At least use -i. Otherwise you're one PATH manipulation away from executing a malicious program as your intended shell.

What? I browse without cookies (even first-party), and apart from the WE USE COOKIES banner that ironically can't be acknowledged most sites work just fine. Obviously shopping sites and similar get whitelisted.
