Actually, Yes I am. If I attend an event, my friends and acquaintances will often upload pictures of me. I do not have a Facebook account, but they are known to operate shadow profiles.

Wages are high if the supply of labour is low and the employer has money for wages. If supply is low and the employer does not have money, then the job won't exist. This is why tech workers wouldn't benefit from a union very much.

I use a code generator. It has a great type system, it's composable, mature and it can even compile pretty fast with the right tooling. It's called C++!

Because the threat model is different. Why would your friends and colleagues in a group chat want to tinker with the order of messages? Just trust a sender's timestamp, provided it's within X minutes.

I agree with your conclusion, but it actually could be possible for kotlin to be faster than java for practical purposes, despite running on the JVM. For example, it might be more expressive, allowing the user to give the compiler more info

Agreed. A modern compiler will pick the optimal assembly (most of the time!) That said, I feel like C often lacks the expressiveness to properly define intent and allow the compiler to optimise well.
