Big organizations are done in my opinion. In the future there will be tiny super qualified teams on some narrow slice of competency having super narrow data sets they will guard like it is the fort knox. Everyone else: Fridge repair.

Unfortunate reality is that software devs will go the way of the blacksmith sooner rather than later. If there is anything after this I would not even dare to question. There is always fridge repair!

I don't understand why you would use C over C++ for anything other than random embedded devices where you have very intimate knowledge of the hardware. I guess you just really hate any hint of a type system?
