This is misleading. Carriers can impose restrictions on paid off phones like being subscribed to them for x months. My phone unlocked after 6 months. It is only free and instant if you are in the military.

I don't understand how it's naive and unprofessional? twitch.tv, goo.gl, youtu.be, etc. is the tip of the iceberg. Twitch and Google probably are unlikely to have bases in Tuvalu and Greenland respectively.
