even before AI very few developers cared about the actual craft. I'd say only about 3%. For a lot of people it's just a job, no matter if it's a corperate dev or a startup dev.

if you tell it to do a thing it'll try it's best to make you think that it was done. I rarely get good refactors from AI unless I tell it specifically what to do.

Where I work we're hosting our own gitlab instance and the previous company I worked for hosted their own Bitbucket. For most developers I know it's either a self hosted git platform instance or Github enterprise.

performance for a tool like this isn't really a huge priority imho. Libraries should have compatibility as a priority over performance unless it's the stated goal.
