I am not sure I would call this obfuscated. The only real confusing piece of that code is if the reader doesn't know that you can use most punctuation characters with s///g

I realize this is a beta release, but a grammar check should probably have been done on the homepage. This could be a strong deterrent for some people.

You can get a used copy of the Dragon book for relatively cheap. The PDF is probably floating around on the internet somewhere as well.
