And to add I don’t know why mcp is seen as magic. It’s just a documented api. Weird… missing the issues with it. They are never described in enough detail for me to comprehend.

Yeah had mcp in prod since late 2025. Runs 100s of tools via openrouter. I don’t get when people start banging on about ‘cli’ and ‘mcp is rubbish’. It’s damn cool and it works. And if you do some legwork it doesn’t need to pollute context s

Yeah this is why a code execution sandbox so the ai can batch calls and select from the response format what it wants and limit the number of responses with instruction to be concise and preserve its context is a really cool thing to do.

Likewise I have the ability for agents to talk cross harness etc. pretty useful, token efficiency in question :p useful when you got lazy though and have 2 convergent sessions.

Yeah routers suck, been doing this myself for the best part of a year now and it’s really difficult to make it behave. A good model for your task is the best bet.

Mcp tool for exposing only 2 tools in context and wiring up 100s of servers with directory based permissions. Also does batch calling and code execution so is super token efficient
