I don't put cases (or even screen protectors) on mine either (since 2015). I've dropped it many times, obviously, but I've only ever had the edges of the phone get the slightest nicks - which I prefer to having a case on it.

My wife and I are on the pixel 3 still as well. I hate the size of the 8, but that camera sure looks real nice... Her pixel 3 is also starting to shutdown randomly which is concerning since our last phones were the bootlooping nexus 5x.

This was my experience as well. Not a single real inquiry, just spam. I asked the mods to delete my posts on those threads and the spam email vanished

I've certainly never tried to stop it from updating. It's on version 8.4.600.440402475.27. When I point mine at a QR code absolutely nothing at all happens

I'm very happy they don't allow them. It would probably be flooded with annoying and useless bots like reddit. Sure you can downvote them, but it's still extra effort * a lot of people's attention

It's also 403 from NA, don't think it has anything to do with GDPR. This comment has an archived link: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31759691

Firefox 100.0.2 on Windows 10. Clicking the arrow directs me to https://kinopio.club/u9XxpuIzz2_LvQUAayl65 but going back (or refreshing) doesn't change the page content

I've worked with tens of developers over 8 years and I've seen this many times. I don't think they're 'actively trying to harm projects', but the person you're responding to never implied that in any way.

Note Gcc does do this, just at -O2 and above, whereas Clang does it on -O1 and above. Gcc also only does it on C++ code whereas Clang does it on both C and C++
