For many years, the official guidance on the trademark has explicitly been that WP was not the trademark and people should use that instead of WordPress. Tons and tons of people use WP in their businesses, domains, product names, etc.

I mean, don't use UUID for user-facing things sure, but that doesn't mean it's not useful in of itself. That's a terrible way to use it is all.

I have done something very similar. Walked out of an interview (politely) due to how it was being conducted. Employers forget that interviews are two-way, and that a talented potential employee is scoping you out to make a decision as well.

It's not just tablets, I get that junk on my other android and iOS devices (nook, phone, etc) all the time now. For some reason the news sites seem to be the worst offenders. It feels very much like the paywall thing that devastated so many

Yes, exactly. I hate that they are hijacking the browser's behaviour and replacing the normal scrollbars with those silly little things for example. Trying to make this act like it's not a webpage is awful. Make it work like a better webpag
