For instance, some fairly commonly used Linux apps like ulauncher, autokey, fail2ban and xpra depend on pyinotify which hasnt been maintained for the last 6 years or so, which is why fedora, arch and nixos now includes patches to make it 3.

I've remapped caps lock to ctrl with chords and escape when clicked alone. Feel it's the best of both worlds :)

Did you actually try LazyVim? It makes this whole process a lot easier, with pre-cooked extras for most popular languages.
