Macs are special purpose hardware for running macOS. A PC you build from custom components in your office is a general purpose machine. The gaming console example by oc is quite apt.

macOS already has a dictation feature that does this exact thing, albeit in real time. I use it extensively. OP’s description in the linked article doesn’t say much more than this, so what am I missing with this particular app?

This isn’t like the 1st amendment. Public carriers like airlines are not allowed to refuse service for the reason of refusing to show ID. They can refuse for other reasons, but the are not “in the loop” when passengers currently get screene
