This is not a viable strategy. You're effectively paying for hardware and/or cloud. Why do this when OpenAI and Anthropic are both significantly subsidizing costs to win the market? Talk to “AI” executives at large firms and 95% o

You mean other than the fact that MacOS continues its slow decline? And the fact that giving your customers different options to use their hardwares would attract more even more customers?

It’s a shame that Macs have leading processors and hardwares but Apple can’t make Linux first-class. I know they have full builds internally so it’s not a matter of resources. It’s simply a business decision for Apple. And quite a dumb one

Man. DuckDB is one of my favorite tools in the past decade. It basically replaced pandas/Polars for me and I hope aws leaves it alone. Otoh, I am glad those guys got paid.

Every time Intel/AMD gets close enough, Apple just crushes competition in terms of SoC. I don’t know who’s on that chip team but they’re world-class. Hope they get paid more than a bunch of AI idiots Meta hired to do absolutely nothing

Nice for them to add Thread and 10G ethernet to base Mac Studio. If they allowed first class Linux, this could be a great home server machine. I ordered the base model. 512GB SSD scares me but would I even notice plugging in TB5 external dr

Let’s be honest, it was DOA. Even Gruber admitted to it later. The whole thing was basically a scam. Edit: I will never understand why people think ACA was so great. It was a bad policy because they couldn’t get it through whole. They passe

You mean obstacles from politicians who took money from the healthcare industry. That’s how we ended up with PPACA and they used it to justify massive cost increases and consolidations. They passed that junk to save face and now healthcare

I’ve stopped using OpenRouter this year. And I stopped using different models for testing. Anthropic won. I’ve even let my OpenAI API credits expire (which is a ridiculous policy in itself) because I had no need for them.

All the money in the world and Zuck can’t buy anything worthwhile in AI. The problem at Meta is really Zuck taking interest in AI. Perhaps the adults should steer him back toward VR unless they all left.

If you’re going to use AI, why use charting libraries? Just build it off of D3. By the way, latest models still struggle with charts/diagrams even if you specify your design system.

I was once ghosted mid interview day. They left me in conference room and completely forgot. I was going to walk out after 30 minutes but I just wanted to see how long I could stay there. It took them five hours. And this was in a “highly s

Basically most of the technology was US govt funded at some point. Now the Dutch can just leech off of that. I guess that’s what they’re good at considering their long history with VOC and “mercantilism”.

So they used pirated materials to train their models but others can’t use their models for training even if you pay.

It’d pretty much Houdini plus render engine of your choice. Blender will eventually get there especially if someone rolls out an AI module.
