Tahoe’s UI is a disaster. Giant buggy controls. Sad to see where macOS has ended up. Apple used to have so much attention to detail in their UI design - now it looks like it’s “anything goes”.

This might be the main issue with software at Apple getting so much worse. Bertrand knew what he was doing. Apple's (and NeXT's) OS used to be an OS, not a collection of toy apps.

Yes, VMTek does snapshots natively and takes advantage of APFS. We have a great graphical snapshot UI as well.

Insteon isn't closed - it had an open and documented protocol and was supported by various software. It did not require "the cloud" either. The problem with Insteon is it was low quality hardware, not a very reliable protocol

Seems like a problem with VSCode. Write more of your own code. If your app is made up of more packages and dependencies than you can audit then you're doing it wrong. Consider OpenBSD.
