This is great, but why start with Safari and not a cross platform browser? Is there something native here that can't be done otherwise or is it just personal preference?

To those of you who might get any ideas from this comment, Soulseek already has a growing problem of people vibe coding "free Spotify" apps that end up hammering a few accounts without giving anything back to the community by host

X.25 and other ITU specs won out massively in aviation, and they are just recently starting to go through the slow painful process of moving to IP. We'll probably see it hanging around for at least another 15 years in that sector.

I would absolutely encourage everyone reading this to check out Reticulum [1] if you haven't already. I believe the base project might be in need of new maintainers(?) at the moment and the main dev has some very strong takes, but it i

I suspect the surface level answer has something to do with AI, but I would be curious to know the deeper factors at play. Do all popular models gravitate towards the same frameworks and design patterns? As an aside, I'm a little bit s

It's also reasonably effective proxy to determine whether somebody is actually passionate about the topic they're writing about. If you've got a very strong interest in a specific niche you're typically able to pour page

It's so bad that whenever I click on blog post I don't start by reading the content, first I skim to see if it's even worth my time. This one is not. > The part I keep coming back to Immediately caught my eye. Reading in..

It would not in principle, those rely on hardware backed keys with Google's latest iteration of Google Play Integrity. The only success people have had is by using leaked vendor keys and spoofing device fingerprints for old A11-era dev

As the developer of an app that uses SMS as a transport medium for a WebView "browser" UI [1], I'm very appreciative of Peter Foster for hosting this service! The site design is highly compressible and text is kept to a minim

Agreed. What message is being communicated if they can't be bothered to put any introspection into the projects they're presenting until someone points out a mistake?

That's one of the biggest shortcomings of AI, they can't suss out when the entire premise of a prompt is inherently problematic or unusual. Guardrails are a band-aid fix as evidenced by the proliferation in jailbreaks. I think thi

Coincidentally most of the funding towards IPFS development dried up because the VC money moved onto the very technology enabling these problems...

Absolutely - this isn't a VPN replacement, especially with all the limitations it has. It's more of an alternative to cases in which a VPN might not work (or work well) depending on the situation.
