Iraq is included in Asia. Asia + Africa = 25.05% which is less than the 30.9% Europe + America. So you were incorrect when you said the majority of Jewish Israeli’s are from Arab nations. As for your edit, that’s an ad hominem.

You can hold any position on Israel up to and including that it does not have the right to exist and still not be anti-Semitic. I do not agree with the formation or expansion of Israel, including the Balfour Declaration. I am not anti-Semit

From the article, 2015 numbers: 26.26% Europe 4.64% Americas 10.75% Asia 14.3% Africa So no, “most Israelis“ don’t come from Arab countries.

I agree this is a real issue. Even if it’s just voicing support under a pseudonym (such as I’ve done here), it’s better than nothing. The younger generations are definitely more aware of the issues Palestinians are facing and more vocal abo

I’d urge people not to give up caring. There’s a lot of crappy things happening in the world and it can be a lot to deal with, but just tossing your hands up isn’t the answer. I’d also argue that tax paying Americans are obligated to care.

You’re calling on a platform moderator to silence Palestinian voices. It’s the exact problem the OP is talking about. Censorship in social media is definitely on topic for HN.

There’s great irony in someone who’s name is “morelisp” saying that programmers don’t think in ASTs. Lisp syntax is the AST.

Someone already gave me a useful tip, so I’m glad I asked! What’s the point of commenting if not to learn new things? We also all benefit from having a conversation about alternatives to Android TV on this thread.

I’d be worried that it was still phoning home even when I was on a different input. It’s a good solution if you have to have a smart tv though.

Not sure why you are downvoted. This is a genuinely interesting idea and seems like the basis for next gen change management.

Mixed income housing is a good thing and leads to healthier communities. We need more public housing, low income housing and density in all metros. I think London does a good job here. It’s expensive to buy, but they have vibrant communitie

It’s way higher. This person has no idea what they’re talking about. “Bums” love freedom? Apparently this person has never interacted with a homeless person. Anyway, it’s $81k a year to imprison someone in CA. https://lao.ca.gov&

The government shouldn’t be in the business of “motivating” anyone (that’s propaganda). Having a social safety net so we don’t have an army of homeless people has nothing to do with “reward”, it raises the quality of living for all of us.

Who cares if it’s criminal? Do you only read crime reports? I was unaware that a Roth IRA could be exploited like this until this piece enlightened me.

There is no requirement for whistle blowing to be strictly about illegal activity. Mismanagement, corruption, unethical behavior… are all considered under the term. It’s in the public’s benefit for this information to be public. All billion

You keep misrepresenting me and arguing with a straw man. I did not say Musk is alone in receiving corporate welfare, in fact I said there are many others receiving it as well. My point is that Musk is an example of a hyper connected indi

I’d take zoom over a hallway conversation any day. I’m at home and comfortable with Zoom. I’ve had to dress up and commute to have that hallway conversation. In an office you’ll also be pressured for your reserved room or you’re literally i
