Great comment. Foursquare harnesses the ubiquity of Twitter, Groupon, and Yelp with practically zero benefits in return for its usage. I really don't get it, either.

Just going from personal experience. Submarine and Vandenberg launches are visible a few times a year to those living Southern California. They're visible from I-10 near the AZ border as well.
