There is a program for windows that does this if I recall correctly. It records every file and registry entry created during installation and allows you to compare snapshots of "before" and "after" installation.

I wouldn't recommend any of the current generation kindles. I've been gifted every single Kindle there is, and I have to say that $50 is not worth it unless you really just want a throwaway tablet as an alarm clock or something.
