I would agree. Not sure why 8 hours of shots of Iceland with no narration is better than a TV show in daytime? Not all of it is trash, maybe they are showing classic movies. Even if it is some soap opera, at least the aunt will feel engaged

How is it more ethical if you don't pay for the product and no money goes to the author? Writers always say that preorders and direct purchases really matter. Of course DRM is bad, but why is piracy ethical in this case?

They probably mean in the context of the thread. Layoffs are not a good thing, definitely not with Bandcamp, where the curators and writers are essential. But they are specifically bad in this context if they target union team members.
