I've also thought this exact thing, the reality is (to me at least) everyone processes information and forms opinions differently. The climate of political discourse, in my opinion, has a large majority in a defensive mindset. What peo

I don't mean any offense since I was in a similar mindset as you going into college. A "9-5" is not a soul killer if you know you don't want to stay, nothing is forcing you to. You want to be a creative, do you know the

Whats the name for assigning a logical fallacy to a post that starts with “no scientific evidence” and “it feels”?

Thanks for the question. The entire comment is kind of defensive and impolite, but I'll focus on what you asked. In my opinion, approaching it like the parent did as an individual making a statement that can be disagreeing is polite to

I believe the person was comparing the engineer to his model of a TV star rather than comparing his model of the engineer to the other 'tv looking ones'. "Sorry to call you out on this" but this person is clearly giving

I think the performance improvements have drastically changed due to the adoption of SSDs in Apple's line up. The Macbook Pros in the early 2012 started to incorporate them around that time. Windows laptops took awhile to catch up star

Sorry, when I said access to private property I was referring to the right of having private property in general. A poor person can still have private property, I'm not going to play the game of rich vs poor. Again for the utilization

Sure, hate the rich, it doesn't prove you have compassion for the poor. What you are stating as a threat is really the 'protection' of private property. Something that a poor person has access to as well, and in fact the util

If he pays 2k a month and you pay 700 a month thats $24,000 vs $8400 a year. Given that 120k in the bay after tax is probably roughly 95-100k (guesstimate) the simple question is, is OP's after tax pay comparable to your pay relative

Not to harp, but the big difference is your relative cost of living. $700 for 'complete' housing is a pebble compared to > $2000 a month for housing in the bay area. It might not be frugal itself but the choice to pay what you&

If you are getting a $70k salary AFTER taxes, which would then be roughly 90-100k BEFORE taxes, then that'd be equal in the bay area to what? 150k-170k? I don't think this is an equal comparison.
