The infrastructure has to be maintained year round, not just the summer months when lake houses are full. I don't think it's reasonable to expect affordable month-to-month pricing.

What's the alternative? Manually curated directories lost to search. Anything completely manual isn't going to be "web-scale". Anything algorithmic is ranked and optimizable.

I think this is a different dichotomy - declarative vs imperative. Generally, the declarative languages have all the magic implemented in an imperative engine.

In Python, I've done this by installing the package in editable mode from a side project. Something like: /package-project/ /main-project/ Then in the main project pip install -e ../package-project
