I actually got stuck in my parent's Tesla with them in the car on a really hot day. The car battery died and so we were stuck in the car because it was bricked. I understand there are mechanical latches to open the doors in that case,

I disagree that it's the low risk, low reward path. The risk and reward isn't in the type of work but in the companies you choose. You can do boring low risk backend work, but at a startup with the opportunity to 100x your RSU
