Not really far if you count games that sell 1 million+ copies. Right now I'm playing Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Forza Horizon 3 and Resident Evil 7. And Hearthstone. Haven't seen a game that I would enjoy released on linux in age

No, because 3D never really had "wow this is so much better" appliances, meanwhile (if you don't get motion sickness with VR headset) racing games with VR are so much better and work insanely well .

Except for telemetry - I think after using Linux, Windows is confusing to you, because I don't have Cortana and still can search for files, don't see ads. Understandable, as Windows is not *nix, you should just RTFM.
