Presumably, that would be what the KVM/some kind of power switch would be used for

Wifi drivers, display drivers, maybe graphics drivers...

Is there anything stopping this from being thrown some investment plus LLM tokens? I wonder what a KVM connected to the machine plus a few thousand in Astra/Fable tokens could do here. It seems funny to think of software feature defect

Makes me wonder - in the year of Astra and Fable what prevents people from building bespoke BSDs for their hardware rapidly now?

I built this concept a few weeks ago even - not nearly as good though, I used wiki data plus LLMs for most of the data sourcing and reverse geo coding but the dataset here seems a lot cleaner.

Is Asahi an LLM-hostile project? I'd imagine this is something that would be benefitted tremendously with a Fable class model

I really like this product idea but I really don’t want “violent delights” on my credit card that sounds extremely suspicious

But weren't they all made outside of Hollywood? Emeryville, around Europe and the UK, and then the UK for Toy Story 5, Odyssey, and Spiderman respectively?

IIRC the Alexa enabled voice remotes also used a similarly small model though perhaps not this small

I’ve always been fascinated (and angry) at people that just don’t have trouble passing or getting interviews

That’s amazing! I live next to their former office. Do you know which theater they rented out?

So how much did they have to donate to the MAGA PAC for this one?

I was hoping for Pantheon too (I’m 90% sure Holstrom uses EMacs instead of Vim?)

I’ll be honest this seems low for what he’s been through.

There's not going to be many non-Ivy+ graduates at these companies. I make Jane Street/HRT/etc new grad pay 8 years into my career

Cognitive elites are the MIT and Ivy+ grads that make up Jane Street like the speaker. People like me aren’t getting $5m+ bonuses for being an SRE (I don’t have the pedigree to work at Anthropic either)

I'll never understand how these cognitive elites live. They're just a completely different kind of human than the rest of us.

I went to a state school, worked at Amazon and didn’t get a 2300 on my SAT - I definitively am lower caste but the caste/class divergence isn’t well understood in culture I think.

As someone that thinks of myself as a low-caste, middle class American it's interesting seeing all of these people listed in the article making less than me

>btw 99% of MIT people are no different then the rest they just worked hard or paid hefty amounts I don't think that's true. I didn't get into any elite schools unlike almost all of them.

I genuinely think this is because the elites like the MIT dropouts that started this company think the rest of us observers are stupid. They have a billboard with the copy "Compliance before you tell your parents you dropped out of MIT

The problem may not be "intellectually interesting" to them at all, but building B2B SaaS does appeal to them from a lifestyle/prestige/pedigree perspective and will probably get them an exit to become a Venture investor

Major red flag with this should have been that their expensive marketing predicated heavily on them being MIT dropouts instead of any expertise in the space

I frequently follow Patrick's tweets. He hasn't said a single goddamn thing about this corrupt administration but keeps talking about Gavin Newsome's vaccine policy that was in effect for 2 months in 2021
