I still don't understand we are comparing a brand new company's engineering to Apple, who have been making laptops for what, 40 years now? Apple's GPUs used to over heat a fry the laptop. They used to make keyboards that woul

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. You were right to call out my criticism of Conde, and hearing more about what their involvement is with Ars does clear that up. My comment about "writing for money" was a poorly w

I have been stuck mentally on this article since it came out. Like, learning enough python to send the time to the display would still have made this a weekend project (I even went and found an adafruit 7 segment pi hat site and read their

As someone who currently automates the payroll flow generated by someone who doesn’t actually know what it does, I can confirm I am going crazy. My boss will do nothing about it because her boss can’t get finance to let us hire more people.

Something that only benefits people with the most disposable income is a bad thing. I will preach from any platform that I have that scalpers are shit people.

I have an old iPhone 14 Pro and I haven't been able to get too much working as far as adblocking outside of the pihole. Firefox for iPhone is bad and Mozilla has committed to simply not fixing it. But I want my bookmark sync so I'

I think that this is a really good article for a reason that none of us are mentioning. This is not a tech blog saying this. This is a cooking/gardening/home blog. I use these terms jokingly, but we are nerds on hacker news and th

Don't forget a pihole! Sometimes I really do forget how obnoxious the internet is until I try to look at a website when I'm outside of my ad free setup at home. Which in a way keeps me from browsing around websites on my phone and

I keep going back to Sublime Text when everything in VS Code becomes too much. Last time I looked at Sublime, I was like “Damn, the last update was from 2024? Must be dead.” Until I realized the lack of updates was because it was fully func

I know everyone has pointed you to Boox/Onyx devices, but Supernote is also android based. You have to sideload apps or add a 3rd party App Store. I use it for reading in Kobo and KOReader and note taking at work.

I bought music from iTunes 2 days ago for the first time in like 15 years. I’ve gone back to the iPod life. But I’d almost never buy anything that would be considered chart level music. I was scrolling through the top 100 thinking “who is b

I’m just curious, where has Rebble actually claimed ownership of your app binaries? I’d love to know if it’s something more concrete than “Eric said so.”

I have a Supernote Nomad and love the size of it, which is A6 sized. I struggle to see how making one more narrow than an A6 pad is useful. This Remarkable kind of looks more like a long post it note or grocery list instead of a notebook.
