That second paper is absolutely amazing, I’ve always heard this story and never bothered to find the source. The section with oscilloscope traces showing the progression of the “designs” over time was extremely interesting - I’d love to see

Some of my least favourite nights and most cherished childhood memories involve troubleshooting broken or missing network drivers the only functional Linux box I had working. Never had to use a flip phone, but sure came close a few times. N

I was thinking about that while reading; in some ways I think this reality is on a worse track than Little Brother's. In the book, schools were using gait analysis because of privacy concerns about facial recognition. In reality, facia

Not related directly to the article, but I’m so glad there’s a “tell me mistakes I made to fix” box. I wish more sites, hell even news sites had that.

Pretty misleading, to be honest. As the parent comment to yours said, the ROA + dose schedule + AUC + peak plasma concentration differ so vastly that "its the same compounds" almost doesn't matter. The differences between str

…Do you have a link? I’m not sure if I want to see proof of that, but I’m at the same time curious how you’d manage to do it without disturbing the cat.

Definitely agreed on the lack of consistency between orders and even between boards in the same order. I’m doing very low volume for myself and not giving anyone else the banks, so I’m more than happy to check over all the boards for visual

Well, there’s only one real part (the cells are interchangeable, and reclaimed) https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKNNnGZ I’ve gone with the purple C and U model.

Absolutely, I’ve browsed that sub a bunch but frankly I trust the opinions here more. I’m using matched reclaimed cells that I’ve tested to make sure they’re still healthy.

Braving potentially getting spit roasted to ask: If I'm making my own 18650 USB C power banks, are there any easy to miss risks? I've got the cells in holders, not welded, but the holders are specc'd above the current I need.

Surely it wasn’t a crystal radio you were building, since they have no power source? For any powered circuit though, a few AAs can dump a surprising amount of current and heat into naive fingers.
