2G -> 3G -> 4G were all massive jumps that all enabled new use cases. I doubt majority of phone users who have a decent 4G connection would notice the difference if they upgrade to 5G.

And how many engineers does Google have? The people working on Chrome are a tiny, numerically insignificant fraction of Google’s employees. A much better comparison would be people working on Google ads and their other commercial products.

How do any of they rent cars when they travel? I think that still requires a credit pretty much anywhere in Europe. I’s bet the proportion is way higher than 5% even if the overwhelming majority use their credit cards the same was as debit.

Carney is one of them few (if there are any) leaders of Western countries who is actually genuinely popular and has a very high approval so he does have a lot of leeway to do what he thinks is best.

It wasn’t “tens of thousands a month” outside of some exceptional months. IIRC usually it was in the single digits which is not fantastic for a two people in the US
