I feel the same, maybe I will switch to AMD next time I upgrade. On the other end, I am happy with my budget dedicated server: its Intel Atom N2800 is so "rustic" that it did not get affected by any of Intel vulns (yet).

If someone has remote access to your computer then either way you are screwed. Using password or key file won't change anything. If your laptop get stolen, then just remove the corresponding line in your authorized_keys file.

Same here in France, the owner of the Wifi AP is liable in case of illegal downloads. However a large majority of ISP implemented a separate free Wifi that is independent of your connection. You have access to all the free wifi AP from this
