   This benchmark provides some interesting data, but would have been far more useful if they had provided more details. There are many unanswered questions here: How even is a comparison when GCE hardly has any customers sharing the same phys

   Hardly worth bothering to reply to this sort of nonsense, but applets are a tiny tiny fraction of a percent of what Java is used for. Java and other JVM languages are use in most backend systems today and also by the likes of google, amazon

   Repeating "x is so 2005" is not a discussion point. I agree, just because something has been around a long time e.g. Unix/Linux doesn't mean it's bad. If I had a buck for every time I heard a Rubyist say "Java is so 90's" ...

   If the biggest gain for the language is a formatting utility then that language is not worth learning.
