I think skill is also an issue here, in both directions. I have worked with a company that followed the opposite of move fast and it just turned into a 'who is the most correct' and 'what is the most elegant code' compet

I find this point of view somewhat tiring and kinda showing a certain amount of detatchment from the general population of internet users. Avoiding JavaScript in all but the most simplest of use cases is going to leave you with a lackluster
