This definitely how the US system works. The core job of the appeal court is correct errors of law. Your other criticisms are valid, such as time, money and there is definitely deference to lower court judges. But the recourse for a judge m

> You can continue to enjoy the books and articles etc No you can't, because those people have stopped creating because the creation economy was destroyed by AI. We just keep getting recycled slop based on what existed in 2025.

Disappointing to see the release and still no implementation of multi-user sign on for local multiplayer games (like all true consoles). As I noted when announced, it's something that doesn't get headlines, but a real barrier for

Wow. I saw 4.1B credits and thought it was super generous. But my math says the subscription plan gives less value than the API. For example, API input is $0.435 / M tokens, which works out to 13.79 M tokens for $6. Plan is 300 credits

The x.com post (by the journalist!) does not point to the actual article. I guess that's discouraged on X? Talk about social media being useless. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/04/13/la

I saw this story. I think the most fascinating part was halfway through (after two hours) the boy decided he had to ditch his life jacket in order to make it to shore. What a hard and life changing decision to make at 13. Incredible.

I wonder if Steam will finally implement multi-user sign on for local multiplayer games (like all true consoles). It's something that doesn't get headlines, but a real barrier for enjoyment for a console-like PC. Hate being stuck

They were originally working on a MS teams replacement, with a bunch of things in one app like teams. (I tried it back then, it was pretty green). Now it looks like they are focused on drive, chat and email. The old app seems deprecated, so

These sorts of projects always seem to end up with the worst doctors. At the end of the day, seeing a good doctor is all the patient wants.

Discussed previously: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44673296 The x.com post was always a little vague to me. I would be interested if we got more background on this.

Completely agree. Iny experience commercial prep was not of the same quality and the actual LSAT questions and doing actual true historical LSAT practice tests was cheap and effective.

She died because she didn't speak french and the staff laughed at her rather than try to communicate with her. If you think racism in Quebec doesn't have a connection with language, you are dangerously misinformed.

Be sure to also check out how francophone Quebecois have been very effective at revenge - driving out anglophones and allophones from Quebec through vindictive attacks against their language, culture, schooling and employment. It's sad

You're lucky. I had a real bad experience and the host managed to get Airbnb delete my review, I think the reason was something like host interactions were not relevant to the review? It was completely ridiculous.
