You're right, it isn't. It's largely a for-profit industry, even the 'non profit' colleges. Most teachers, especially adjuncts, make very little in comparison to what the students are paying -- look at NYU, 50k&#x2F

Yes, this seems like the most important, and most detrimental part of this behavior. I'd recommend getting a new job -- it'll only get worse as the company gets older and more stress is added.
