I have a couple of smaller personal projects that need transactional emails (mostly just notifications of things that have happened or weekly summaries, etc). Currently using Postmark but now they're going away from credits to monthly

I have friends who work at HQ and others that were laid off during the myriad rounds they had a few years ago. It would be safe to say that their warm/fuzzy corporate culture has been completely changed with their current CEO Brian Co

The expression "eating well" is ambiguous at best so I consulted a good dietician which made a big difference in my overall well being and health. Also, I work out every MWF, first thing in the morning - I find that if I don'

I just finished doing a restoration on a Bally Party Zone pin, down to rebuilding ramps with a DIY vacuum form machine. These things went for a couple of hundred dollars 5-10 years ago. Now you're lucky to find a relatively ho-hum pi

Maybe not courteous, but at least attentive. If you're driving a manual in stop and go, it's hard to be playing with a cellphone (not that it doesn't happen). You are being forced to spend some thought on the act of driving

I also have an Ecobee3. I had come from a 2nd gen Nest. I will agree with others and say that the remote sensors are really nice. I've always had multi floor houses whose temperature differentials (between up and down) would border

I would love to have f.lux on my un-jailbroken iPhone. Currently I use Twilight App on a Nexus by my nightstand during the night because of how harsh the iPhone screen is in the dark (even with brightness turned down all the way).

I would imagine it would have to be baked into the OS (if not jailbroken) as I presume you'd want it to affect the display and all applications. But I completely agree, I love f.lux on my computer. The only downside is I feel the nee

I thought I read that it shows up for a google app account that is also the domain administrator. But I'm not sure if this is true or not. I wouldn't say this is a "fix" as much as it's a work around for showing t

Agree, I've had numerous situations with a site I created that didn't have email verification where users reported problems logging back into their account. The problem should be pretty obvious. They click the "I forgot my e

I did the same thing. I had to read HN to even have a clue about this as their email correspondence/site gave no indication that this was even a possibility. I would assume a large majority of their clients don't read HN and would have no

I really like FlightCar in theory, but I'd never actually allow my car to be rented to someone I don't know (and even to some people I DO know). I realize they provide wear/tear and mechanical insurance, but I don't think $10/day in gas mo

Sure someone will post this as a new story, but it appears DNS services are back online. I checked a few of the sites I manage and they are now working. Now I need to bust a nut and get things moved off ASAP.

Good points for past classes, but I don't see the harm in listing the current class. On the other hand TC seems to cover them, so I'll lower my hand now :)

I'm curious why there isn't a place on HN where we can see the startups for each of the classes including their web site, industry, a description of their service, etc. I know there are a few resources online, but they don't seem to be kept

I was expecting satire. Not what I got. I would have accepted a caveat like "...for people who don't know how to code, but want a CMS". Like the client who told me - and I quote - "I would love to have HTML5, but PHP is fine".

Thanks for sharing. On a completely side note I noticed that Brendan Schaub had a CarWoo logo on his shorts at UFC121, so someone at CarWoo must like MMA. Anyway, I've always been curious about how much those fighters charge to have advert
