Also keep in mind that AirPlay mirroring requires at least a Sandybridge CPU, so you need a mac released in 2011 or later.

When I ran into this problem I simply added a post-checkout hook that deletes *.pyc files within the git root.

I've certainly noticed a speed difference recently. DDG feels pretty snappy to me now, whereas before it was annoyingly slow, easily taking a second or so to load. I'm located in Luxembourg.

The X11 that comes with Lion is XQuartz anyway. All this changes is that the first time you run an application that uses X11 a dialog box pops up directing you to the XQuartz project page.
