I feel sorry for the author if they ever manage to buy a house or apartment. The two year rule of their experience (not mine) will suddenly accelerate!

With the current direction of this industry, I fear you will come back to something that is both unrecognisable and terrifying.

Omit the key and store it in a single json column. The worst of all worlds!

The domain and article just a long-form advert for the author's observability sass. Oddly it's free, but you have to sign up for Cloudlfare, where the author is currently employed. It's seems they are playing the long-long ga

I have a tiny long-haired dog (the first dog I've ever had) and I'm glad our first trainer/behaviourist mentioned the dangers of foxtails to us. We casually asked the vet if it was a problem and she said they see around 2-3 a

I would love to be able to toggle an attribute off/on to see what affect each has on the uniqueness of my fingerprint. My guess is that there are a handful of _very_ unique things, that if obscured, would make one less recognisable.

I never quite understood this “tell”. I use the word all the time. As do a lot of the people I have know. Written and spoken. Is this maybe an American thing? Ie it’s just not used much there?

The problem is, I still get the wrong end of the stick when AWS or CF go down! Management doesn't care, understandably. They just want the money to keep coming in. It's hard to convince them that this is a pretty big problem. The

I have lastname.firstname@gmail.com because first.last was already taken. Just curious, do gmail accounts ever expire? Will I ever get the chance to snag the other one? Or does it forever belong to my nemesis and life-long enemy?

What really annoys me is the variance in corner radius now. Because some apps have released an upgrade and others haven't.

What's new is that it's now being recommended for use in production, not just development. It's also now what they want you to use for caching, artifact storage and just about everything else that use to use "Technology

Agreed! I have a few around me, and to be honest I didn't even realise they were there for a few years until I really started exploring the area on foot. They are lovely. So I don't know what the objections were about. You can eas

Just curious. Is it absolutely necessary to have the phone in your bedroom? My partner struggled for a long time with being “unable to sleep” until I pointed out that I also can’t sleep due to the dim blue light coming from the other side o

Ageism is as real as any other prejudice. And unfortunately it's just a difficult to prove. I've seen the faces of the room full of "kids" (yea, that's reverse ageism I suppose) when doing remote interviews and watc

It most definitely does work the other way around. The problem of course is that you can’t just wait for motivation to appear. But you can start an action. I’m just stating the obvious, but I find it odd that the author states the opposite

Just curious why the decision was made to go with PascalCase for the DSL? Is this meant to help React devs feel at home? Seems very un-Rubylike.

In the UK there are maker spaces of all varieties. But you are right, woodworking spaces need room for the equipment. If you are a hand-tool only woodworker, then there isn't really a need to use someone else's (unsharpened) tools

It really is a sad situation. As an American who spent the first 30 years of life in the US and over 20 in Europe, the difference is striking. However... here in the UK I see more and more "American-sized" people every year. _Some
