That's a pretty apt comparison I'd say. However, with JavaScript you have to avoid the old/outdated language constructs, and some warts need to remain, since browsers still need to support old websites. Perhaps in the future

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at (perhaps the fact that it mutates the original string, similar to `Array.prototype.splice()`) ... but I can say it's never gotten in my way.

I agree, but the keyboard is what gets me the most. I can get used to the feel, but it is simply too unreliable for a $2k computer. A spec of dust can bring it down for crying out loud.

Take your tech and build your own game with it, using original graphics sounds, levels, etc. of course. Might as well put your hard work to good use! I loved the old Zeldas and would love to play a new game with the same mechanics and style
