This is the first I've heard of "pick", but it looks like it's missing a lot of the interactive features of fzf. Those features are what make fzf good for building UIs.

But it is faster. It's both faster to compiler and faster to run. I think it's a valid reason to prefer Haskell.

This is a common misconception. Haskell is extremely readable. You just have to learn it. Python reads like pseudo-code where as Haskell reads like math. Both are readable, they are just different. I suspect it's easier to teach someon
