   I used Arch a lot back in the days there was no dkms (got a new kernel? Recompile your gpu module otherwise no desktop on the next reboot, specially with nvidia) and Arch is a very good place to learn Linux, but I eventually went to Debian

    My only complain about PostgreSQL is COUNT() being quite slow compared with MySQL. Everything else is pretty good, MySQL has compressed tables, but in PostgreSQL the same amount of data already takes less space by default. Pghero/pg_st

    Yes, that is what I do (buying online but from a more local seller). If it takes 2 or 5 days to delivery doesn't makes much of a difference for me at least, I will have to wait anyway.

    I wish you can give another try, much has changed since then. For me Debian Testing with Gnome is being a very nice experience (enjoyable ride).
