It really breaks the illusion for me when a movie is shot where it isn't set. I'm like, "What? They don't have pine trees in Austin."

A lot of people are posting here about how bad the end product is, but that is kind of the point. Models have moved beyond generating images to a new kind of benchmark that better exposes understanding of the physical world, and we can use

Even my daughter's dance recital this weekend had them. In between dances they frequently paused to play an ad on the big screen to the right. It was incredible.

This is wonderful. I remember I was in Asia in 2000 relaxing at the airport and was puzzled why it felt so nice and peaceful. Then I realized that it was the lack of repetitive pointless announcements.

I thought the title was a joke until I actually read the thing.

That jumping Sora logo always made the videos unwatchable for me. So distracting from the scene of Elvis fighting aliens or whatever I was watching.

I feel like the world needs more sound engineers. There's a constant humming of the machines and we all suffer for it. We also need more vigilance about preventing noise pollution. The beep, beep, beep may make a company feel like it i

I just didn't think that either of them were very good. Sinners was okay, and One Battle After Another was just kind of silly, I think regardless of your political views.

Maybe it has gotten better recently. I tried and tried with Bluesky, but it would not abide.

Oddly enough, X is the only platform i've been able to teach to not show me culture war stuff, from either side. It just shows me AI in the "For You."

Love the title. Yeah, agents need to experiment in the real world to build knowledge beyond what humans have acquired. That will slow the bastards down.

I just finished reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, and this could have been one of the chapters.

Maybe they are just calling the jobs by different names? It seems like names of roles are constantly shifting. "Data scientist" is a term that is going out of fashion.

Oh, I'm usually trying to gather information in conversations with peers, so for me, it's usually more like, "I don't know, but this is what the LLM says." But yeah, to a boss or something, that would be rude. They

I love the post but disagree with the first example. "I asked ChatGPT and this is what it said: <...>". That seems totally fine to me. The sender put work into the prompt and the user is free to read the AI output if they ch

This is exactly how I feel about both advertising and unnecessary notifications. "The signal functions to consume the resources of a recipient for zero payoff and reduced fitness. The signal is a virus."

What is their business purpose for releasing an open-weights model? How does it help them? I asked an LLM but it just said vague unconvincing things about ecosystem plays and fights for talent.
