Given that the system these scenarios test also manage state, it's not surprising that the step definitions used in the scenario also need to manage some form of state. While it's advisable to avoid unnecessary state between steps

Yeah, I'm in two minds as to whether I'll bother signing it. It's mostly just sad, because I had so much enthusiasm for the library when I first found it which has now simply dissipated. Oh well.
