Back then the Second Amendment was read as a right to an Armed Militia. SCOTUS probably would of allowed these laws at the time. It's only the in past few decades that the Second Amendment has been perverted into the right to carry any

We use it for our bare metal management and like it for the most part. It does require a lot of planning though. But the company has been great to work with and super helpful in slack.

We're using Joyent's Triton platform and like it a lot. It's been super stable and great for us. Plus #smartos has been incredibly responsive and helpful with any problems we run into. There is also Proxmox and Cloudstack.

I don't see how anyone can afford SaaS metrics/alert services at any sort of real scale. $15/month/host gets expensive fast. Datadog doesn't start providing discounts till you are at 1000+ hosts.

I've used it with Influxdb, Elasticsearch, and Prometheus. They all worked great. I can't think of any reason to use Graphite.

I get long hangs (5 secs) when saving Ruby code. I think it just takes a long time to load up all the gems rubocop relies on, then to process the syntax. I put the blame squarely on Ruby, not vim.

The take away I got from the article is that these people are being replaced by workers here on H1-B visas. Which are suppose to be used only for positions that you can not find any American workers for. So Disney instead hires a contractor

When I worked at a bookstore we would ship boxes full of un-sold books back to the publishers every month (Mostly consisting of cheap Romance novels). I imagine having to track and handle all of that to be a major cost to publishers.

I do like how it's illegal to sell a person video rental history, but totally fine to sell information that shows everywhere they are at anytime of the day.
