I'm not sure your analysis holds either, though. All signs point to Apple being pretty aggressive in securing its supply-chain both for current production and future potential (see: Brazil).

Do you really think that Android tablet makers can continuously produce at that price point though? Let's be honest here: as many benefits as the android -> hardware developer model has, there are some glaring weaknesses.

I'd argue that what's bizarre about it is the uncompetitive nature of the bidding. Sure, jettison anything that's losing money right now (as short-sighted as it seems) but at least get top dollar for it. As is, it seems a little shady - no?

Do you mind elaborating on what 'functional' libraries exist in python? I've practiced a bit using the whole map-reduce paradigm in different ways in python, but I'm not really sure what you mean beyond that.
