They all use contenteditable for I/O only (no execCommand), and they all maintain their own internal document model.

What ton of bugs? Trix is used by thousands of people daily in Basecamp 3. I'd like to think it's pretty stable.

I use a crank-adjustable base ( http://www.gibraltarinc.com/item.asp?id=66 ) and with a birch counter top from Ikea ( http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90014922 ). It's easy to adjust and cost around $425 total.

I would change the "Few Goodies" wording on the Take the Tour page; it feels like there's very few goodies. "Highlights" or even "A Few Goodies" works better.
