I think it's super attractive to new businesses to push their wares via a generous free plan. But in the end, unless you think word of mouth is going to take off. Validating your business model by charging is much more important.

I recommend the following strategy: 1. Don’t ship any new features without writing unit tests for them first. 2. These new features most likely rely on parts of existing code so write a few tests for that existing code with each new feature

In my experience this strategy only works with small projects. Projects with any level of complexity will have you running from fire to fire and it will impede your forward progress. Developer retention and customer happiness will suffer. I

I have used proz.com and was able to find a good translator. I would classify my experience as good. My biggest issue was not having something like what Canonical's Launchpad provides for managing the strings and their translations. In
