Can you explain? Having a tool to detect changes and create a migration doesn’t sound bad? In a nutshell thats how django migrations work as well, which works really well.

Yes, but if a company does this, they are essentially killing themselves. They have presumably spent a lot of time creating a company, gain customers etc, whereas a single(?) maybe anonymous open source developer does not have that much to

That sounds like the same thing. What would you say if a SaaS told you that they store your password hashed, but that they can reverse it and get it out in plain text, if someone with authority asks?
