The wrench thing is real. My approach to a DIY mechanic’s stethoscope is to stick the handle of a screwdriver against my ear and the tip on whatever I want to listen to. Great for figuring out what part of the machine a noise is coming from

I have seen this in person, it really is remarkable how the artist used the natural color gradient in the stone. The entire museum is well worth a visit.

The scale of a cloud datacenter is pretty awesome to witness. I had the opportunity to visit a large cloud company’s data center years ago, it was immense in scale and (mostly) very well thought out.

I draw a lot to figure out engineering details. I used to make beautiful drawings in diagramming software (draw.io and the lil). But man, it took a lot of time. Now I scribble on printer paper unless it’s something I plan to share.
